Must Watch TV Series For Your Fall Break
Dexter – I fell in love with Dexter the first time I watched it because it’s a crazy killer show, but it also has a lot of comedy and psychological analysis that takes place. Dexter is really interesting because he is the kind of killer that follows a “code”. He is a psychopath, but he also provides a lot of comedic relief throughout the show as he works as a forensic analyst for the police department and a killer. Dexter’s ability to have a normal life and life a shielded and dark life by night is very interesting to watch. You’ve got suspense and drama, but you’ve also got a lot of heavier family and mental issues that come up about morality and being virtuous.
Walking Dead – Very good during the first season. It has lost some momentum as the show has progressed, but it’s an awesome watch if you’re into zombies taking over the world and seeing how people survive as it happens. I thought it was really interesting to see how human relationships and connections change as the madness ensues.
American Horror Story- One of my personal favorites! American Horror Story has a different theme for each season of the show, but utilizes the same characters throughout by putting them in different roles and situations. The first season is about a haunted house and all of the history and ghosts that come with it, the second is about a mental institution and the dark happenings that occur under God’s watch, finally this season is about a freak show and how the closed off society they live in is both disgusted by them and intrigued by their oddities.
The Following- Serial killer of young women creates a cult of murderous individuals. It’s about Ryan Hardy, FBI agent, and his interesting role with Joe Carroll, the serial killer at large who is creating an army of murders. Full of suspense.
Castle- It’s a funny crime show that has a lot of cheeky and sentimental family moments throughout it. Think CSI, but less scripted with some real love going on. Castle is a writer who is working with the police to help solve murders that occur.
Scandal- Political drama about the corrupt government and the extramarital affairs of the president. It’s full of surprises and some unexpected love interests that lead political paths in interesting directions.
Prison Break- I just started this one myself, but it’s an intense drama about a brother’s attempts to break his brother out of prison (where he is facing the death penalty). It’s an interesting show about the planning that goes in to executing some of the prison breaks of high security individuals. They definitely had some good ideas up their sleeves.
The Blacklist- One of the FBI’s most wanted criminals turns himself in to assist the FBI in finding the criminals on his “blacklist”. This show is great because it’s interconnected, but each episode they are finding a different, unsuspecting criminal and destroying his mastermind plan!
Breaking Bad- If you haven’t watched this already, you should. Interesting show about a high school teacher that goes rogue and uses his chemistry background to start cooking meth with one of his former students, Jesse. The show traces their struggles and successes as they climb their way to the top of the game with the purest meth anyone has ever tried.
Orange Is The New Black- White girl goes to prison? Lesbian relationships come back to haunt her? What does her fiancé think while she’s in? And how does she survive amongst these hardened criminals? Piper is just a white girl who carried drug money one time for her ex-girlfriend Alex. There’s bound to be some drama (especially when Alex ends up inside with her).
Sons Of Anarchy- What is hotter than sexy, badass biker boys? Not much. Get your bad boy fix in watching Jax kick some ass on Sons of Anarchy. There will be prostitutes, drugs, bikers, and of course some explosions and sex scenes. Oh, also, there is nothing sexier than a biker man who loves his wife and babies. Enjoy.
